Not only we were taking notes by hand, in the "old days" but the teacher too was writing them on the blackboard. The "everything digital" nowadays is certainly convenient, and maybe improves communication, but leads to worse comprehension. Can't learn much when we think fast.
I look forward to the day when students can create artificial photographic memories and supplement an antiquated lesson plan with search-engines and live-action social updates.
