Paris Attacks
France has declared a national state of emergency and tightened borders after at least 128 people were killed in a night of gun and bomb attacks in Paris.
Eighty people were reported killed after gunmen burst into the Bataclan concert hall and took hostages before security forces stormed the hall.
People were shot dead at restaurants and bars at five other sites in Paris. At least 180 people were injured.
In the statement, released in French, Islamic State said “soldiers of Caliphate has targeted the capital of abomination and perversion.”
It continues:
Eight brothers carrying explosive belts and guns targeted areas in the heart of the French capital that were specifically chosen in advance: the Stade de France during a match against Germany which that imbecile Francois Hollande was attending; the Bataclan where hundreds of idolaters were together in a party of perversity as well as other targets in the 10th, 11th and 18th arrondissement
France and those who follow its path must know that they remain the principle targets of the Islamic State."
I'm shocked...

Thank you for this summary, Corina.
ReplyDeleteMy mind is simply boggled by the gravity of these events. I cannot imagine what it must be like to go through such a horrifying experience. France seems like a really strange target to me, too.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend there, but thankfully they are OK
ReplyDeleteI have to agree Michael...France is really a strange target to me too..
ReplyDeletehttp://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2015/11/13/paris_shooting_why_did_terrorists_attack_france_again.html might shed a little light on that.
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind that France's particular colonial past has given it a large Muslim minority, and racism and economics have helped create a lot of disaffected youth within that group who are prime targets for radicalization. So in some sense it may simply be a target of opportunity.
guess you should read up on the ghetto´s of Paris too...
ReplyDeleteespen forsmo No, plenty people travel to Syria to fight who do not live in ghettos but live comfortable lives. You sully those who struggle in life but choose not to deal with it by slaughtering civilians.
