IRIDIUM - 4 MISSION
On Friday, December 22nd at 5:27 p.m. PST, SpaceX's Falcon 9 successfully lifted off from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, carrying the Iridium-4 mission to orbit. This was the fourth set of 10 satellites in a series of 75 total satellites that SpaceX will launch for Iridium’s next generation global satellite constellation, Iridium® NEXT.

  1. I didn't know they were still expanding the Iridium constellation. heavens-above.com - Iridium Flares is a neat resource for spotting flares, when their panels reflect sunlight and are, for two seconds, the brightest light in the sky save the sun itself.

  2. Interesting shape, must have been quite impressive to see it in person. I wonder what it reminds people of, some kind of cephalopod or something else. I could imagine in the depths of our oceans a creature with a similar shape.
