And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost.

And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge.

  1. Well... We live in an imperfect world, and imperfect people surround us every day.

  2. I may be missing the intended meaning of this post, but I'm interpreting it as a simple reference to the movies - at least the image is from the movies. I wish the LoR and The Hobbit movies would capture the same rich texture that the 1981 BBC Radio play achieved. Here's an excerpt: 1981 BBC Radio Lord of the Rings - Golum schemes.mp4

  7. ''''''Three rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine of Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all,
    One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the
    darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.'

  9. haha 'fusimotor' sounds like Yiddish. I don't believe I have ever heard the term before. I looked it up on Wikipedia but two minutes yielded more terms like extrafusal and intrafusal. This isn't a 'refusal' (haha) to learn, but my distinct impression is the subject will require more than 2 minutes, so I'll have to delve deeper into it tonight... (My tentative theory is that fusimotors may have something to do with penetrating deep blue eyes?)
