Do not miss this spectacular real time animation of Earth’s winds. A brilliant work of Cameron Beccario, a Software Engineer settled down in Tokyo. This is an interactive animation, click at the “earth" label in the lower left corner to access to a few special features. Absolutely cool!
I liked the map projections..very nice!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful - but not real time: this is a three hours forecast... Close enough !
ReplyDeleteDid you expect to see a weather channel?
ReplyDeleteIt's close enough to real time as it gets, for me
Amazing indeed.
ReplyDeleteLike the interactive part as well
ReplyDeleteLooks like we should put all our wind turbines offshore.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. The Germans and the Scandinavian have done it already. Especially, the winds coming our of Africa. Or better yet, we should build huge offshore platforms for manufacturing and take advantage of the wind energy.
ReplyDeleteThere was a project to place large turbines off Cape Cod (US) but it is stalled because it would ruin the view from the rich mansions in Nantucket and Martha's Vinyard...
ReplyDeleteBob Walker Where I live (Iowa) the wind turbines are an interesting addition to an otherwise mortally uniform corn-field landscape ;-)
