Long-Lost 'Secret Rooms' May Have Been Found In King Tut's Tomb

  1. The original paper is here: https://www.academia.edu/14406398/The_Burial_of_Nefertiti_2015_ and one cool thing about it is the author has access to millimeter-resolution 3d models of the tomb, which allow him to find interrupted patterns beneath paint and mortar.  I hope he's right.

  2. I so hope they find Nefertiti's tomb... and this does not turn out to be another Geraldo Rivera special opening Al Capone's  vault... there could so much history behind those walls...

  3. Another interesting factoid in the original paper relates to history behind the walls: there's evidence that the topology of the existing known tombs is partly dictated by their proximity to each other: the people digging them knew where the prior ones were and avoided them.  As such, wherever there is a big chunk of space between two known tombs, the implication is that there's another tomb there, to which we have not yet found an entrance.
