What is a Wormhole?

What is a Wormhole?
A wormhole is a theoretical passage through space-time that could create shortcuts for long journeys across the universe. Wormholes are predicted by the theory of general relativity. But be wary: wormholes bring with them the dangers of sudden collapse, high radiation and dangerous contact with exotic matter.

I was reading a while ago a transcript of Stephen Hawking’s lecture on Space and Time Warps...and now I'm having a few more questions plus a bunch of scenarios that my brain is trying to evaluate.

Read the transcript here but warning...is addictive:

  1. Or maybe go in a DeLorean. now where did I leave my flux capacitor?

  2. I've bookmarked it so I can return at a stage where my brain isn't still drunk on the ideas of freewill and determinism.

  3. I travel through space and time every night :-)

  6. According to Special theory of relativity, the time dilation is given as
t'=(lorentz factor)*((t- (beta)*x/c)). ; where t is proper time and lorentz factor can never be less than unity.
Beta is ratio of relative velocity of both frames to speed of light.
Assuming t' to be negative we find beta being greater than 1. This goes against the ultimate speed postulate.
So one can never land before he takes off.

  7. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm just a high schooler who recently studied special relativity.

  8. Yes, special and general relativity are different. My knowledge of Physics is not deep, but I remember that being the case.

  9. Absolutely we can we just don't know how yet, time traveler. After all Jesus himself was a time traveler. In an instant, in a blink of an eye.

  10. True, but mind checking out my YouTube channel ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’• (dopeychloee)

  11. I don't want to get cheesy in anyway but in The Book Of Bartholomew, Jesus tells it completely different. Also in The Transfiguration event on Mount Hermon he in our present then and Moses from the past then, for example were present in the present.

    Time apparently is everthing!!

  13. Maria Ortiz time is only relative to ones position. If I walk around the block and I stay in one spot I would be younger then you by theory yet still remain relative, presently.

  15. Are you serious? Fathom this. Being here and there because you can do anything you want with time. Therefore distance is irrelevant.

  17. As we known about black hole. It's contains dark mater. Anti gravitation masive.

  18. It's look like gateway to another dimension. But if mater go to inside black hole the mater will destroy. Change to insubstantial.

  19. Theory is but a suggestion or a consideration of a consolidation of multiple thought as to what we perceive it to be. Combined with natural and scientific observation and evidence of the absolute. Otherwise it is but a blink of an eye for but a slight moment in time? There is only one absolute absolutely. A-Z a linear zone exists for time and space travel. A polarity of such an amazing and ominous and omnibus enormascity beyond any scientifically and bellowing comprehensive conception of time travel is metaphysical in nature and is not possible outside of an Astral Progressive State. Where the physical, Spacifiscial, Primalizating and Celestial Clandestinizationalizing the Universe. Well have at it!
