Totally enjoyed this movie, Nolan tries to stay true to the science, also wanted to keep CGI to a minimum, I bought the DVD, the soundtrack, and have a book covering the production (as any true fan boy would!)
PS the corn field was grown specifically for the film!
Sam Collett - that's so cool and interesting. I too was really impressed by the TARS design (because it's "out of the box" thinking.. haha). I had no idea that they used puppetry instead of robotic remote controls... very impressive.
Awesome movie. It was the last 70mm film movie they played at the Seattle IMAX. Now the IMAX is all digital laser projection; which is cool, but not quite the same.
Love this movie! All around great conversation starter.
ReplyDeleteIt was an interesting robot, not your usual style. Easier storage being like that, plus 'legs' for propelling on land and water cleverly done
ReplyDeleteMore info about TARS, was actually a puppet: http://www.businessinsider.com/interstellar-making-tars-2014-12?IR=T
