Things that move together are interpreted as a individual objects. That's how we can see a lion crawling behind some trees.
We also use color to join things into a single moving entity. This explains why sports teams wear uniforms of the same color. We can more easily see the movement of the group as a whole, rather than trying to track every individual player.
