Messages, mentions with the same question:
"Why I cannot comment on any of your posts? Even I circled you or I follow one of your collections"

Well is very simple, I restricted the comments, only the people I circle can comment. Why? Because moderation of comments is time consuming. We are all different and on social media platforms we tend to act - a bit or a tone - crazy, because behind a keyboard we feel much more confident.

I'm not a business looking to attract more clients, I'm not a blogger...I don't care who circles me or not and I have 0 interest on becoming a social media guru. I simply started to use this platform so I can show to Matt (my 9yo son) that he can learn something new everyday even on social media.

The internet is full of interesting and gasmic information but there's also a lot of crap. Everyone has a choice...you can learn something even if you "waste" time on social media.
Therefore I'm not interested on spending time with comments moderation.

If G+ settings regarding commenting would be different perhaps I'd reconsider. For example people who follow a collection they could comment on the posts in that collection. But till then I'm sticking with "extended circles" as a setting for commenting on my public posts.

Here it is again:
If you think you have something interesting/new/weird/creepy to say/comment on any of my posts ping me and I'll add you to my circles.

  1. It appears that you are a G+ phenom by not your own choice.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. 99% of the users get it and a few don't. It is very kind of you to post such a thing! Your very thoughtful!
    Ok, back to being creepy...😉

  2. Thank you for your interest in a wide category of substance, all is cool without change.

  3. Engaging with your child in the world is good in my opinion. The biggest double edged source of media with my kids was television. I had to battle Viacom, the parent company of Nickelodeon (elementary), VH1 (middle school), and MTV (high school), Disney, and the likes of them. Constantly pointing out the despicable nature of each until they mocked me with "blah, blah, blah".
It worked! With the exception that they are messy even though I told them "cave man was smart enough to hang his fur on a rock on cave wall so fur didn't get moldy". Sometimes they look like an episode of a "reality" show that had drinking and fighting. Hopefully they'll grow out of it.

  5. I had to resort to 'Extended Circles' only as well. Too many spammers and conspiracy theorists. I suspect in your case you get plenty of pick up lines and creepers.

  7. Good policy for us, too. I doubt most reasonable people want to read garbage in the comment section.
