Stunning Storm From 37,000 Feet Above Pacific

Stunning Storm From 37,000 Feet Above Pacific
A storm rises into the atmosphere as it gathers over the Pacific Ocean by Panama City. Pilot Santiago Borja captured the image last month of lightning flashes exposing the massive storm. At an altitude of 37,000 feet, Borja caught an isolated cloud in the middle of a threatening thunderstorm while flying from New York to Guayaquil, Ecuador.

  1. Gorgeous! Saskatchewan is great for storm viewing. The sky is so long, the horizon so low, that you can often see the tops of distant storms.

  2. I'd like to get some decent storm photos, but ours tend to be a bit grey and overcast. Need 'lightning' reflexes too, or at least good planning and luck. Making a good photo is about the anticipation as well as composition and exposure, but the natural world can be quite unpredictable, which also makes it interesting
