Nobody is saying that Fukushima was anything other than a disaster, but consider Beijing's smog. It kills people every day by way of asthma, lung cancer, and heart attacks.

That means out of Beijing's population of 11 million, there are 10 people dying every day because of pollution from fossil fuels.
Every day. That's a real disaster.
Even in the Tokyo area, every day, you have at least one person dying of disease caused by air pollution from fossil fuels. That's a slow disaster, too.
