New Google+

New Google+
Since "New Google" keeps showing up every time I sign in, I decided to give it a try and spend at least 1h before I hit the button to go back to "old Google".
The only thing I really like is that friggin' Hangouts are GONE!! No more annoying calls and invites and all sort of genitals photos...like you see I have a lot of "unchecked" invites.

Not sure why I keep going back to the old version...perhaps is way too familiar.

  1. I apologize on behalf of men who do not act as real men, sending you needless Newfoundland fried Bologna. Familiarity can breed contempt, Stay above the fray, my good lady...Your keen posts are a joy in knowledge. Google can make one agog.....

  2. Perhaps there should be a better way to filter hangouts, like if you are not following, filing under 'other'. Like how Gmail has the important tag and the Inbox app/site uses bundles, which seems more intelligent than circles

  3. And I thought I was the only one getting hundreds of calls. Most of them just say "hi". Grrr!!!! I hate small talk. Especially when I'm in the middle of something more important. I need to lock up Hangouts to just a small group of friends and staff.

I too like the older google plus. What really burns me is Google really has no clue of what the people want or need. Google Wave is a good example. It's a dead project before it got started. They're also late to the gate on many ideas.

  4. I love the old design. I've been forced to use the new design on mobile and I hate it.

I use to get unwanted messages, until I changed me permissions. Now everything is smooth sailing.

Also, on behalf of all the XY chromosomes out there, I want to apologize for some of our member's actions. No one should have to deal with that Corina Marinescu.

  6. Well all this inspired me to go and fix my hangouts. I went to the customizing screen and turned off email and phone number. Now the only people who can contact me via hangouts is close friends, family, and staff. I cleared out all the invites. I feel clean! I even took my annual shower. :-)

I've been playing with this new G+ and I kinda like it. Now one can add photos and active links. But I found there is more mouse movement in sharing. Why does the box have to move from the edge of the post to the middle of my feed? Google's team lacks skills in improving efficiency. Having to move my pointer to a new location and lining it up with another button/window, uses up time and energy. It's also hard on people with disablities.

  7. I do the same for the same reason. I know where things are and see no point in the change.
