Human trials of a new medication to treat Parkinson's disease are expected to begin within 3 years

Cross-disciplinary research at the University of Melbourne and the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health has found that a class of synthetic compounds called copper bis(thiosemicarbazones) can potentially treat Parkinson's.
Pre-clinical research on the drug strongly indicates that this new medication has the potential to treat Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
