25 April is reserved to Wolfgang Pauli
Today is the birthday of physicist Wolfgang Pauli, born in Vienna, Austria in 1900. His brilliance showed early, as he published a paper on the then-new theory of relativity at age 18. He received his doctorate from the University of Munich in 1921, just as quantum mechanics was being developed. 

In 1925 Pauli proposed his famous exclusion principle, which states that no two electrons in an atom can be in the same state at the same time. In each electron-holding orbital, if one electron has spin +1/2, the other must have spin -1/2. The exclusion principle applies not only to electrons but to all fermions, which include protons and neutrons. Pauli later proposed the existence of electrically neutral particles called neutrinos; the particles were discovered in 1956, two years before his death. Pauli received the Nobel Prize in 1945 for his discovery of the exclusion principle.

  2. Corina Marinescu​, the history of quantum theory development is among my favorite topics. Pauli and Dirac where post-docs and Heisenberg had yet to receive his Ph.D. when they invented the 'kid physics' of quantum mechanics. They were all friends. Dirac was an atheist, and Pauli famously quipped, 'there is no God, and Dirac is his profit.'

Boris Borcic immagina due elettroni legati assieme dalla forza di gravità, il loro centro di massa sta percorrendo l'orbita attorno al nucleo, la gravitá è dovuta principalmente al loro moto di rotazione (velocità relativistiche) essendo opposto spin, la curvatura al loro interno (nel centro di massa) è maggiore della curvatura al loro esterno, ció vince la forza di repulsione elettrica. Se non fosse cosi un elettrone cadrebbe nel nucleo e l'altro verrebbe espulso ottenendo un atomo instabile. Quindi spin opposto è attrazione non repulsione. un pó come soffiare in mezzo a due strisce di carta.

    Le pire, quand à lui, n'est jamais certain,

    ...enfin, bien sûr, la mortalité fournit un au-delà dont il est permis de douter.
