9th June is reserved to Phoebe Snetsinger
Google Doodle celebrating the birthday of American birder Phoebe Snetsinger (1931-1999). Phoebe documented 8,398 different species of birds, more than any other researcher or hobbyist. And she did all that after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Absolutely amazing!

    I knew Phoebe on a birding tour of the Antilles. Already well above 8000, she was enjoying just as much the fish she saw snorkeling, commenting that there was no way anyone could ever see them all but that's OK.
