
By periodically plotting a line between the location of two planets overtime, beautiful and mathematically inspiring patterns begin to form.
Each “spoke" on the edge represents a point in time where data was collected and therefore a specific location of each planet, and each different colored line represents one orbit of the inner planet (which has a smaller orbit). The number of orbits on each chart represents the smallest common number of orbits the inner planet must go through for the outer planet to go through a whole number of orbits as well.
