Robo-Deer
Happy Holidays from Boston Dynamics! ;)
Using the Boston Dynamics robot, Spot, the company created a sleigh being pulled by robo-deer, a much more futuristic version of Santa and his reindeer.

I just can't get over being alarmed by the Boston Dynamics horses, or in this case "reindeer" so this scene is a horror show to me! I expect Santa to rip off his face and be the terminator!
ReplyDeleteHo ho funny not, people seem to forget that this company is working for the military.
ReplyDeleteLeo Plaw Also don't forget that what the military develops, the population eventually gets to use. We just have to kill the war part!
ReplyDeleteCan't stand Christmas, but this is really cool!
ReplyDeleteann kiszt unfortunately, we might be killed by it before we get to use it. Hence I find your comment about the Terminator quite appropriate.
ReplyDeleteLeo Plaw I think we're not that close to our own democratic governments slaughtering us with machines in the street. I think the idea that this is possible is fear mongering by corporate interests. They wish you to strangle your own governing bodies with your fear so you have no way of controlling corporate interests. Also, fear makes people go shopping. Every time. Whether it's toilet paper and water or a big old bug-out camper or just something to soothe yourself.
ReplyDeleteann kiszt remember, many dictatorships that slaughtered their own people were, at first, democratically elected governments. Germany 1933. It is a slow creeping process, not one that happens overnight.
ReplyDeleteLeo Plaw so study history, figure out what the people failed to do, and take action to prevent it. I feel quite confident about my country still. We all seem pretty sensible here in canada.
ReplyDeleteann kiszt having lived over here in Europe for the past 13 years, and examined the issue closely, living amongst the ruins and reminders of it, the answer is complacency. To think that it could never happen in your own backyard.
ReplyDeleteLeo Plaw Complacency is not the same as confidence in your countrymen. I see my fellow citizens actively interacting with the political process and I, and my fellow citizens, have successfully changed the laws accordingly several times in my life. We don't all sit back and complain. We get up and complain to the right people in a civilized way.
