     Actually there are many and very significant differences between Zeus (Dias) and Euclid (Efklidis) and for now I think it is better to settle for Euclid.

David Hallowell you are correct; modern theoretical mathematics is thought of differently than the mathematics of antiquity.  Our understanding of "proof" has increased in complexity (category theory, model theory, etc.) but Euclid's seminal tome is still one of the greatest milestones in the history of mathematics.

    I just said it looks like an integral sign. It was just another way to draw the "s" letter (look at the english link provided by David Hallowell If you read french, you can look at the link i provided in my previous answer
