I have a suspicion there are three layers. A clear layer. A secondary retractable gold-tinted visor layer and finally a third retractable protective covering layer. I believe I see the rim of the third in the picture. Here is a link to a pictorial description of the ones used in lunar missions: https://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/alsj-LEVA.html
How do they keep them free of fingerprints?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I do know the visor is coated with a thin layer of gold.
