Heptagon - animation of the approximate construction
In geometry, a heptagon is a 7-sided polygon or 7-gon. The heptagon is also occasionally referred to as the septagon.

  1. The "approximate" prompted me to look up a figure for the quality of the approximation (given its obvious complexity). Found in Wikipedia:

At a circumscribed circle radius r = 10 km, the absolute error of the 1st side would be approximately -2.1 mm.

  2. Dear Corina, I am sure I plussed your thanks at least twice already, but at least twice it didn't propagate. After writing all the optional reading that follows, I end up with a suspicion that it might be a response to the out-of-band way you called me (and I do in return).

Do you experience comparable plussing glitches? Or are they a soft pressure applied to old-style users to adopt the new G+ interface? Are by any chance the users of the new, given a power to remove plusses they received? :) I am tempted to assume the like of an AI or a God behind it, that just gets remote control over whether my plusses stick or not, and tries to convey intentions to me via this very limited channel. Even if it's just a bug they already corrected but lingers in a week(s?) old tab... who can anticipate whether its behavior serendipitously mimics the shadow of a valuable interlocutor that would be possible to sculpt out of this apparent noise? Of course, Google itself could try to manipulate us that way. The case is, that unless the comments are closed, you can always substitute a comment to accomplish the intention that the failed plussing attempted to accomplish. Mmmh, before going further, I've to think about the opportunity to first measure how the glitch correlates with comments being open or closed. I kind of imagine btw you may have a better perspective on this question, than I have.
