  8. Not sure any of these algorithms are anywhere near defining an evolving life form. But then again, the best algorithms are the simplest ones.

    So maybe at some point there will be an API for creating life forms. And the smartest, and the luckiest ones will evolve to form communities, cities, nations, and then there will be wars, and famine, and disease, and they will need something to believe in, to be stronger... So they will create religions, and it will be a whole lot of fun, until some life form makes a weapon capable of wiping them all out, and presses the wrong button.

    And then there will be simple life forms again

  11. Evolutionary algorithms are really fascinating both to the study of evolution but also in practical applications like optimization of irrigation systems and circuit board layouts. One of my favorite examples is Evo-Lisa
