The explosive force of neodymium magnets

The explosive force of  neodymium magnets
Neodymium magnet is a permanent magnet made from an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron to form the Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystalline structure.

Developed in 1982 by General Motors and Sumitomo Special Metals, neodymium magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet commercially available.  They have replaced other types of magnet in the many applications in modern products that require strong permanent magnets, such as motors in cordless tools, hard disk drives and magnetic fasteners.

  1. This looks like a very dangerous experiment conducted with the wrong safety procedures.

  3. Exposing his ass to magnetic projectiles, Piero Filippin . I call the labcoat a lie (but I didn't see the full clip yet)

  4. I think it's comical how the broken magnets seem to make a beeline for "Magneto's" back.

  5. I made a magnet-based accelerator one time, like this: http://www.coolmagnetman.com/maglnch.htm and found out just how brittle ceramic magnets are, and how much stuff they can throw when they smash.  This is a real problem in handling larger ones.  They'll wake up and come over to visit from a meter away, and anything between will suffer.

  6. True. The size in the clip above can crush bones easily.
