Chemistry was my first love. I still find the beauty of only whole number associations of things much more satisfying than the mess of calculus involved in physics. And J. Willard Gibbs' work is awesome.
Besides, classical thermodynamics is still working even after all these years ... what other physical theory can one claim such longevity?
