
The medication was originally intended to treat T cell lymphoma, but has been shown to restore memory in mice. Soluble amyloid beta levels decreased as well. These results have been replicated, and are very encouraging.
However, the original paper claims that 75% of plaque could be removed within 3 weeks for mice with a certain genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's disease, though those results have not yet been replicated by independent labs.
