  2. Notation is not consistent. A better way to do this is to write
    f(x) = exp( x/n)
    Now take ln of both sides
    ln(f(x)) = x/n

    Now take d/dx of both sides
    f'(x)/f(x) = 1/n
    f'(x) = f(x)/n = exp(x/n)/n
