  2. Antenna Wilde Note than when dark, energy isn't equivalent to mass. Dark matter is defined as the cause of a (quite large) gravitational contribution that has no other manifestation, while dark energy denotes as you say a repulsive effect. These are distinct by definition.

  3. Antenna Wilde Good read, thanks. My large contributor comment was because we know that there is likely way more dark matter in the universe than real matter, including when we go to estimate the mass of a galaxy. But you're right and it could add to a galaxy breaking up.
