It is perhaps the misfortune of my life that I am interested in far too much but not decisively in any one thing; all my interests are not subordinated in one but stand on an equal footing.
I'm with you! I'll add this: There isn't enough time in a lifetime to explore all of my interests, and so I am forced to choose those interests to pursue and those to postpone (as opposed to ignore or abandon because that just won't do).
It is perhaps my fortune that You are interested in far too much because I learn so much about so many things through Your posts on so many topics Corina Marinescu!
I'm thinking the age of specialization is over and we have arrived at a point where diversity of interest is needed to really create a unique perspective on anything.
Dante Alighieri once said, "He who knows most grieves the most for wasted time." You see, great minds like Dante's and Corina's can't be shackled by the soul-sucking mundaneness of just one thing - an uneventful horizon circling the singularity of idiocy. Ain't nobody got time for that. 😎
I know the feeling. Sometimes I want to be good at and try many different things and procrastinate too much
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, until March, 2015, when I (again) found a way to pursue them all simultaneously through blessing of abstraction...
ReplyDeleteDo not worry about this! Most of us feel the same... At this subject you must think that you are not alone there...

ReplyDeleteThis is the story of my life in one sentence.
ReplyDeleteAnd for a long time I had thought it was just me...

ReplyDeleteI must say that I share, and I like your vision too optimistic and independent Cori! 😉👌

ReplyDeleteWell, the mind is associative, and stuck in one topic might not act freely. That could feel like a constrain at times.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing fine, as far as I can tell.. I like to think holistically, too..
ReplyDeleteScott Hales Which options are there? I'm usually striving to find the absolute only to find that it's throughout than within.
