Kepler’s second law of planetary motion

Kepler’s second law of planetary motion
“A line joining a planet and the Sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time” (Meaning that each triangle seen there has equal area.)

The black dot represents a planet, the point where the black lines intersect represent the sun.
The green arrow represents the planet’s velocity,
The purple arrows represents the force on the planet.

  1. Oh what simple creatures we truly are if Einstein's theory of time Distortions is correct then Kepler is mere logo building blocks

  2. Kepler graphically described and formulated the effect of conservation of angular momentum for large bodies. Einstein's work does not contradict that conservation law, quite the contrary. It is the most essential agreement between relativity and quantum mechanics -- it is independent of scale.

  3. I'd like to see what happens if you introduce another planet, or even a moon orbiting the planet

  4. Sam Collett The law will persist between each pair of bodies, leading to quite complicated patterns.

  5. Defying what we yet do not understand highly logical thinking our earthly math equations got all fluctuations accounted for

  6. I think you should have explained 3rd law instead of 2nd.

  7. It's an interesting thing, that when a model for reality gets outdated by a new model it is abandoned. Each only approximates reality - perhaps the models are converging to a true representation of reality.

  8. Time in general is a facination to me. Especially is Astronomy in which the amount of time in light years it takes for each star to be seen with our own eyes, takes millions upon billions of years for that light to reach us. So what we are seeing already happened millions of years ago from the star's time. ~Facinating

The other two purple arrows are acceleration components — aN and aT ( tangential component, aT, and a normal component, aN).

  12. The Kepler area law is just consequence of more general and fundamental law of conservation of angular momentum.....
